too thoughtful clods, may learnfrom those we walk on:
star-nosed moles, their cataonic tunnels
and barrows... only in touch with what they touch;
blind fur, in mourning, black from shying at limelight,
not as we would, or lowest serf---
vegetating and protective creatures,
forever falling short of our shortest life.
